The Client agrees to be responsible and hold CGL and its employees harmless from any injury, loss, damage or destruction of any articles entrusted for examination while in the possession of CGL resulting from any cause whatsoever not caused by proven negligence of CGL and its employees.

A CGL Report contains only the characteristics of a stone described after it has been graded, tested, examined and analyzed using the techniques and equipment used by CGL at the time of examination.
The issuance of a Gemstone Report may refuse by the Laboratory at anytime.
The opinion of Heat Treatment specified only for corundum's (Ruby and Sapphire).
Most of the Rubies and Sapphires (Corundum) in the market subjects to form of heat treatment to enhance its color, or clarity as this resulting colors are stable under normal condition of display, wear and storage. These treatments become so well established that they are considered legitimate trade practice.
As different type of heat treatment it is always a challenge and time consuming task to give an opinion as stone not treated. Persons submitting a corundum may request for an opinion for treatment. If requested and when possible the information given under "COMMENTS".
When evidence is not detected to determine whether the gemstone has been heated or not heated, no decision is given under "Comments" and left blank on this stance.
Note: Corundum is possible to be enhanced or treated during its life, therefore comments regarding treatment and/or enhancement inside this report are specific only to the time period that the stone actually within CGL.
Rechecks/Re Tests may be necessary if a period of time has passed or the stone changed owners.
To carry out test treatment with light elements further advanced analysis necessary with LIBS (Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy) or more preciously with LAICPMS (Laser Ablation Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry).
Some gems that are subjects to low temperature heat and/or irradiations where treatments are not always detectable or detectable. These are Topaz, Tanzanite, Tourmaline, Zircon, Spinel, Red Beryl (Morganite), Aquamarine, Amethyst, Citrine, Ametrine, Smoky Quarts etc.
A professional opinion of the "Origin" of the stone can be given primarily based only on internal characteristics of the gemstone, is possible upon customer request.
